As I was sitting at the pool the other day, I met two wonderful young ladies from England.   They had a great suggestion.   They felt that when they came down, they really didn't know where to go to eat.   So I spoke to Ava and she put in this fabulous new topic called Restaurants and also added Services (I guess like places of interest, etc.).   I think a great way to work with this topic would be to put whether you feel it is a breakfast place, lunch place, dinner place, snack place etc.   I would also like neighbors to put down something they ate there that they loved and would definitely recommend ordering.    If any of you are like me, I love trying new wonderful restaurants and this would be the perfect place to share some.

I'll start with just a few that Stan and I enjoy:

Dinner -Mama Mia - on Woolbright off of Military - absolutely delicious garlic rolls

Way Beyond Bagels - Jog Road south of Linton - delicious lunch

Luna Rosa - Atlantic and A1A - fabulous breakfast.  You must try the pancakes with Macademia nuts, coconut and pineapple syrup or for lunch try their delicious chicken salad with walnuts and grapes.

Sweet Tomatoes - Powerline and Palmetto Park Road - the longest salad bar I have ever seen.   Plus they give you soups, pastas and different breads to choose from.   Plus they have an ice cream bar that has caramel and hot fudge and all kinds of fixins.   Plus it is quite inexpensive.

I have many, many more which I will add at a later date.   YOU CAN TELL I LOVE TO EAT!!!!

For a nice and romantic Italian dinner there is a small, quaint place in Boca Raton on Federal Hwy called, "Josephines."  Yes there is a bar when you go in but the restaurant is away from that and is a very elegant place to dine.  Often on Sunday evening there is a full dinner special which includes everything.  We enjoy their chicken marsala as an entree.  The pricing is moderate and attire should be appropriate for an elegant dinner out.  No suits needed but something other than shorts and no jeans.

For a nice Chinese food meal we like the place in the same plaza with Poppies.  I am having a blur on the name though.  Very good food but it is a little on the expensive side for Chinese food.

City Oyster is another place in downtown Delray that we like.  We really enjoyed lunch there a couple of months ago.  We hear their dinners are wonderful.

We love Louie Louie Too downtown in Delray but prefer to dine there for lunch.  At night it is a little pricey and it is not necessarily the best of the Italian dinners we have ever had.  No the best of the best would be at The Tramonti also in downtown Delray.  Wow!!  What a lunch we had there to celebrate our anniversary!!!  The food is awesome and much more to the authentic side of Italian cuisine.  It is expensive there and dinner is super expensive.  The outdoor tables are also close to one another so if you have some loud talkers next to you it can be rather bothersome.  We loved it though.

Look forward to more reviews.

My family and I recently tried GOL! on Atlantic and it was very good, the resturant is brazilan and served traditionally.  It is $40 per person, but worth it especailly if you are a big meat eater.  (it's perfect for my husband)!

Just tried out the Delancey Street Deli behind Publix at Atlantic and Military (near the World Gym and where you get the driver's licenses).   YUM!   Best matzo ball soup, a great lean corned beef on rye,  and restaurant looks immaculate and comfortable.

Also tried Cici's pizza buffet.  Don't know how they can do this but for $5 plus $1.50 for a drink you get unlimited very good pizza and pasta and it even includes desserts.  They also do takeout pizza for $7 (med) -$9 (large).  Unbelievable.

Blacktip Reef, 301 NE 3rd Avenue, Delray Beach, One block East of Pineapple Grove.

I can tell you from the two times my wife and I have dined there that the food is delicious!  On special occasions we would generally go to Gotham City on Jog Road but now enjoy Blacktip Reef for great food but slightly less expensive.  The Chef was recently noted on the frontpage on the latest issue of Clipper Magazine where they offer a 10% discount.

I have no marketing agenda here except that Nick the bartender used to be a resident of Coral Trace  and we tried Blacktip strictly on word of mouth.  Be sure to look for Nick or the owner, Angie, mention Michael & Donna from Coral Trace recommended them.  You will not be disappointed.
